Điểm khác biệt chính của thế hệ thứ 2 so với thế hệ thứ 1 là:
1. Thời gian hoạt động mặc định từ 2 năm lên thành 3 năm
2. Khoảng cách truyền tăng từ 70m lên thành 100m
3. Cùng một thời điểm có thể truyền nhiều packages (như ibeacons, eddystone, estimote monitoring, telemetry data, ..)
4. Dễ dàng thay Pin với Pin phổ thông AA.
